Why This Position Exists
This position leads Emergency Medical Services operations for Las Vegas Motor Speedway, a non-transport EMS agency. This teammate ensures medical readiness, regulatory compliance, and effective emergency response for all events and daily property operations.
This position maintains the speedway’s ability to deliver immediate on-site medical care to teammates, fans, clients, and vendors, manage required emergency medical drugs and equipment, and coordinate with external agencies including AMR, Nellis Air Force Base, and Clark County Fire Department.
Key Responsibilities
This teammate is responsible for the following accountability areas. Other duties may be assigned.
1. EMS Leadership and Department Operations
Lead and supervise all EMS personnel for events and daily property operations at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Develop, implement, and maintain EMS policies and procedures that meet regulatory requirements.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels for all events and property operations.
Complete and maintain all LVMS safety training programs for EMS personnel.
In this area, this position:
Decides EMS staffing assignments, shift scheduling, and daily operational priorities
Decides EMS policies and procedures within regulatory requirements
Escalates Budget requests for staffing increases or major equipment purchases
2. Event Emergency Response
Provide direct emergency medical and trauma response during all events and property operations.
Respond to medical emergencies with appropriate urgency and deliver life support care.
Ensure all EMS personnel deliver care consistent with protocols and licensing requirements.
Deliver first aid and emergency response training to security and facilities personnel.
In this area, this position:
Decides On-scene medical treatment decisions within scope of paramedic license
Decides Patient transport decisions in coordination with AMR
Escalates Mass casualty incidents or activation of emergency action plan
3. Medical Equipment, Supplies, and Drug Management
Maintain all medical equipment, supplies, and emergency drugs in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Ensure all emergency medical drugs are current, properly stored, and compliant with Southern Nevada Health District requirements.
Maintain medical equipment in operational readiness with documented inspection and maintenance schedules.
Manage supply inventory to ensure adequate stock for all event types and daily operations.
In this area, this position:
Decides Supply ordering and inventory management within approved budget
Decides Equipment maintenance scheduling and vendor selection for repairs
Escalates Drug compliance issues, expired stock, or equipment failures affecting readiness
4. Interagency Coordination
Maintain working relationships and coordination protocols with external emergency services agencies.
Coordinate with AMR for event medical coverage and patient transport.
Maintain mutual aid relationship with Nellis Air Force Base.
Coordinate with Clark County Fire Department on event safety planning and emergency response.
Maintain communication with area hospitals for patient transfer and trauma coordination.

Decides Routine coordination scheduling and event-specific EMS staging plans
Escalates Interagency disputes, mutual aid agreement changes, or jurisdictional issues
5. Regulatory Compliance and Continuous Improvement
Ensure all EMS operations meet regulatory standards and continuously improve medical readiness and response quality.
Maintain compliance with Southern Nevada Health District, state EMS regulations, and OSHA requirements.
Conduct post-incident reviews and implement improvements based on response outcomes.
Track response times, patient outcomes, and training completion to identify improvement opportunities.

Decides Training curriculum and continuing education priorities for EMS team
Recommends Policy updates based on regulatory changes or post-incident findings
Escalates Compliance gaps, licensing issues, or regulatory audit findings

Requirements
| Experience (Required) | Minimum 3 years paramedic field experience. |
| Experience (Preferred) | Experience in event medicine, mass gathering medical operations, or non-transport EMS agency leadership. |
| Certifications / Licenses | Southern Nevada Health District Paramedic License (required). CPR Certification (required). ACLS Certification (required). PALS Certification (required). |
| Tools / Systems | Medical equipment and supplies standard to ALS-level EMS operations. EMS documentation and reporting systems. |
| Physical Requirements | Ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 50 lbs. Ability to perform CPR and patient handling for extended periods. Ability to work outdoors in extreme heat during Las Vegas summer events. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities. |
| Travel | Minimal. May support events at other Speedway Motorsports properties as needed. |
| Work Schedule | Non-traditional hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Event schedules dictate availability requirements. |
