Why This Position Exists

This position provides dedicated social media content support during Sonoma Raceway’s peak motorsports season. This teammate captures high-quality photo and video content, supports day-to-day social media publishing, and owns the TikTok and Sonoma Drags channels. The position ensures Sonoma Raceway can scale its digital presence strategically during high-demand periods while maintaining the quality, consistency, and brand voice fans expect.

Without this position, the marketing team lacks the capacity to capture and amplify high-value moments in real time during race weekends. Limited real-time coverage reduces overall reach, weakens event visibility, and diminishes the digital value delivered to corporate clients and fans. This position addresses a clear capacity gap and directly supports stronger performance across engagement, audience growth, and overall marketing impact.

Key Responsibilities

This teammate is responsible for the following accountability areas. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Content Capture and Asset Creation

Capture high-quality photo and video content across race weekends and non-event periods, building a versatile content library that supports social media, marketing campaigns, and corporate client needs.

Support day-to-day and event-based social media publishing by selecting, editing, and posting content that keeps channels active, engaging, and aligned with overall marketing priorities.

3. TikTok and Sonoma Drags Channel Ownership

Own the strategy, content creation, and day-to-day management of the TikTok account and Sonoma Drags social channels, ensuring a consistent, engaging, and on-brand presence.

Support pre-event planning and coordination to ensure content opportunities are identified, organized, and aligned with marketing and event priorities.

Monitor and evaluate social media content performance to identify what resonates with audiences, using insights to inform future content decisions, improve engagement, and refine overall strategy.

Requirements

Experience (Required) At least 1 year of social media experience. Demonstrated ability to create engaging visual content for social platforms.
Experience (Preferred) Sports or live event social media coverage experience. Familiarity with content creation in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
Certifications / Licenses None.
Tools / Systems Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X). Adobe Creative Suite. Photography and videography equipment. Content scheduling tools.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move throughout event venues for extended periods. Ability to carry photography and videography equipment (up to 25 lbs). Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for qualified individuals with disabilities.
